Our region is committed to meeting the targets set out by NHS England to reduce our direct carbon emissions to Net Zero Carbon by 2040, and overall reduce our impact on the environment as healthcare providers.
To help us achieve this as individual healthcare organisations we each have a Green Plan and at Integrated Care System (ICS) level we have Together to Zero. There are three key goals our plans help us to achieve:
Reducing environmental impact: delivering care that is Net Zero Carbon, minimising our impact on the environment and respecting natural resources.
Improving wellbeing: supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and communities.
Investing in the future: maintaining long term financial stability through sustainable decision making.
As we work towards our 2025 goals we will need your help so that collectively and individually we can all make a difference. Our Together to Zero engagement campaign is how we’ll be getting you involved in the future. We need to understand what you think about sustainable healthcare before that happens.
