<h3>Do you want to make a difference?</h3><p>We are looking to recruit volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds to support us to put people and communities at the heart of NHS Services.</p><p>There are two types of volunteer roles available and you can give as much or as little time as you have available:</p><p><strong>Engagement Community Ambassadors</strong> work alongside the Public Involvement team to reach in their local community, to connect with local people and gather views on health and care services in the area.</p><p><strong>Strategic Community Ambassadors</strong> work with clinicians and managers on specific programmes, projects and tasks to represent the public and act as a &ldquo;critical friend&rdquo;.</p><p>All volunteers have access to training and support and are reimbursed for reasonable expenses.</p><p>NHS Sussex embraces diversity and equality and we are committed to building a team of volunteers with a variety of backgrounds, skills and views. The more inclusive we are means we can help meet the needs of people living in Sussex.</p><p>Reasonable adjustments can be made to help people volunteer as a Community Ambassador. Community Ambassador Network 

NHS Sussex is using more digital technology and information to help join-up our services in a way that will transform people’s experience of health and care services. Our ambition is for our people and communities to be able to use high-quality digital and data technologies, such as NHS App and My Health and Care Record, that supports them to live healthier lives, and manage their health and wellbeing; have one shared care record so that they can communicate and plan with those involved in their care, using real-time health data which is secure; and benefit from health and care professionals securely sharing data to better plan and deliver services across Sussex that meets the needs of our population. Do you believe people should only have to tell their “health and care story” once? Do you think information should be securely shared to support people to live healthier lives? Do you want to work with the NHS to make sure people feel supported to use digital technology? If yes, we want to work with you! We are looking for 15 volunteers to become Digital Citizens to form our NHS Sussex Digital and Data People’s Panel, to help improve digital technology, and information across NHS and social care services in Sussex. Digital Citizens are members of the public who have an interest in helping shape digital access, use of data and the sharing of records, and are willing to work with us on a voluntary basis.  The Digital and Data People’s Panel has been set up to ensure that the views and needs of our people and communities are the foundations on which we build and develop digital and data services. The Digital and Data People’s Panel will: Help make sure that the view of the people and communities of Sussex shape our work in relation to digital access, digital services, and the secure sharing of records to improve care Help provide shape and improve digital and data related projects; and, Help NHS Sussex understand and listen to the needs and views of our diverse population, including those who find digital access and services challenging. We welcome people who are, and are not, using digital services, and can provide individual and group experiences into challenges, barriers, and opportunities with digital health care provision. We can also provide support to use digital technology to join the People’s Panel. We would particularly like to involve carers, disabled people (pan-impairment), older adults, people whose first language is not English, and others who may experience barriers to accessing healthcare. People’s Panel members receive expenses; and, in certain circumstances, recognition payments are offered.
